Beni’s works have been commissioned and performed by the likes of CHROMA Ensemble, Tre Voci Cello Ensemble, Kit Downes & Tom Challenger, National Portrait Gallery, Huw Watkins, Vickers Bovey Duo and European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), amongst others. He contributed a movement to a collaborative Concerto for drum machine and orchestra, commissioned by Nonclassical for Rise of The Machines #2 (alongside Josephine Stephenson, Laurence Osborn, Max De Wardener and Jo Thomas) which premiered at Village Underground, London.
Addelam, (a collaborative project with cellist, Colin Alexander), released its first album in January 2019. The music was premiered at Union Chapel as part of the Organ Reframed festival (listen here).
Beni was associate composer for Nonclassical, with whom he has worked extensively over the years. Alongside Gabriel Prokofiev, he has reworked and remixed the music of Mozart, Webern and Martinu amongst others. These works have received performances with orchestras and ensembles across Europe.
Beni studied at the Royal Academy of Music where he did a Master's in composition under Dr Philip Cashian. He had previously studied with Giles Swayne. He has been co-Composer-in-residence at Espacio Cultural El Tanque de Santa Cruz in Tenerife, a Britten-Pears Young Artist and a visiting tutor at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, as well as being shortlisted for the Britten Sinfonia OPUS award.
